Before somebody would start to accuse me for the "black face", let me say some words in my defense:
I new about the risk to offense somebody in the Internet with racism. That is why I used to study a lot about stumble blocks of cosplaying Garnet (coz I love this character really-really much and had finished her costume before I knew about "black face" at all (rly, guys, I'm from Ukraine and to find here any person with natural dark-pigmented skin is a challenge, except several show-business stars) and I was really upset whit such an opportunity, coz I DO NOT WANT TO HURT ANYBODY).
Some authors wrote, that it is ok to use brown make-up, if you are using it accurate and not in the way original dumb-show used (wax foe shoes, white circles around lips and eyes...). Other authors wrote, that that is ok, if you are using not really brown make-up, but magenta or burgundy, not to be look like Melanin. A lot of people were just crying about racism and have no thesis about what actually is not ok. Well, I used to the arguments like that, because there is one country on the east from my homeland, 85% of which wanna us (Ukrainians) disappear or die by extremity violent death by no reason (really, we did not started any wars on it's territory, not intrude in their politics, until 2015 accidents (and yes, learn history)).
So, what I had made: I was trying to make my make-up not brown, but more garnet-sangria color. And make it smooth. As I know, there is almost no possibility, that melanin made this color in nature.

Hello..!! I came here from pearl's page and I just had to say that I LOVE your garnet cosplay!! It's super pretty, and I HAVE to know how you created Garnet's hair! You look JUST like her, (she's my favorite gem) and I'm super impressed!!
